The Saplum Cradle - Vertical Slice
A downloadable vertical slice for Windows
The Saplum Cradle is a choose-your-own-adventure horror game about using the memories of the dead to scavenge lost civilisations.
You play as Amber, a small child under the care of Asterisk, a mysterious silhouetted being that protects her from the threats that inhabit the wasteland.
This is a pre-alpha version of the game which is playable, but has some very noticeable glitches. DO NOT PRESS CONTINUE, OR SAVE OR LOAD THE GAME, AS THIS WILL BREAK IT UNTIL CLOSED AND RESTARTED. If you'd like to keep up with the development of the game, check my itch page for links to my socials :)

Absolutely adored this! The pixel art of the characters is great, and the way the models have been textured and rendered mimic their drawn appearance very well - the pixelated rendering stops the transition between the 2D dialogue sequences and the 3D world traversal from being jarring. The SFX and Music was amazing, especially fond of the messy chaotic sounds of that insane memory and then when the creature chases you. Just the general art direction is.. perfect. It's all so cohesive and satisfying to look at. The story already has me hooked, so I can't wait to hear about future developments!
if there will be asterisk merch, i will be buying.
i love them.
if there are no asterisk fans, i am dead.
i love the art direction for saplum sm thankyou for letting me help with designs i am so excited to see it all done :')
Loved the narrative journey the game takes you on, the artstyle is beautiful especially in the 3d environment. The characters feel like people in the world with backstories of their own that you've just stumbled upon within the game which really adds to making you like them and adds to the mystery of what exactly is going on. Cannot wait to support this when it comes out as a full release, yippee!
tl;dr game good
I cannot wait to play the full version of this
i liked the part where Amber said "together we are saplum" and they all lived happily ever after
ABSOLUTE CINEMA
